Worm Composting 101: Sustainable Living
Turn kitchen scraps into “black gold”! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to set up and care for a worm bin, keep worms healthy, and harvest nutrient-rich castings to boost soil health. Participants will gain practical tips, troubleshooting skills, and the confidence to start their own sustainable composting system. Each participant will leave with a turn key worm compost bin!

Living Soil: The Misunderstood World Beneath your Feet
In this course, you will learn about the living world below your feet that is often overlooked in today's world. We will explore what living soil is and how you can become a steward of it at home. By the end, you’ll gain practical tools and insights to help your garden thrive naturally.” Each participant will take home a bag of supercharged compost/amendment to use at home!

Rediscovering the Vast World of Pollinators and Beneficial Insects
In this course, you will learn about the vast world of pollinators and other beneficial insects that keep our ecosystems in balance. A hands-on workshop will proceed after the lecture, where you can make your own native pollinator hive to attract beneficial solitary bees at home!

Paranormal Investigation at the Pump House
Join ghost hunters from Transcend Paranormal as they explore the historic Byrd Park Pump House! Ever wondered how a paranormal investigation is conducted? Well, here's your chance! Our friends at Transcend Paranormal are offering a rare opportunity to join them as they investigate paranormal activity at the Pump House. In this event, you'll learn all about the tools and techniques used to detect otherworldly phenomena.
There will be TWO separate investigations starting at 6:00 and 9:00. Each will last about 2.5 hours.

Urban Oasis: Gardening with Native Plants
Transform your urban space into a vibrant retreat with native plants perfectly suited to Richmond’s environment. This class explores low-maintenance, eco-friendly gardening that supports local wildlife that thrives in the city ecosystem. We also will go over invasive plants and how to rid them of your yard! Each participant will leave with a native perennial plant for building a pollinator habitat at home!
