Byrd Park is getting a vibrant new native plant garden! This fall, we’ll install pollinator- and bird-friendly perennials near Shields Lake, along with educational programs and volunteer opportunities to help bring the project to life.
This project is made possible by through a 2026 Conserve The Future grant!

Pollinators in the Park
August 12th, 2026 | 10:30-11:30AM
This event is for children ages 4-8 who are accompanied by a caregiver. After a brief discussion about honeybees and why they are important, children will take part in a honeybee relay race. In this fun competition, they will run back and forth carrying different resources that honeybees collect and produce. This is a FREE event hosted by Bloomistry. -
Ecosystem Landscaping

This is an adults only event. Join us as we explore ways to enhance your garden and yard with plants that attract pollinators and wildlife, transforming your outdoor space into a landscape that is both visually attractive and ecologically beneficial.
